Interesting dichotomy there. Last week, he was Baptised (thanks, Pastor Joe!), and this week, his first Halloween.
Anyway, thanks to everyone who braved the nippy weather and early start time to attend the service at Christ the Savior. As usual, Pastor Joe kept it entertaining and relevant. Congrats to my brother and his wife, Kyle, and Heidi, for surviving and winning the godparents competition. (The competition itself involved a fight-to-the-death cage match between couples. Bibles were used as weapons. Winner take all.) Special thanks go out to everyone who got Carson a little gift for this special occasion.
Our first Halloween went pretty well. We had Carson dressed up in a Tigger outfit, which he seemed to like. We had several neighbors stop by to hang out, and we pretty much set up camp at the front door. Roughly fifty kids came around, and surprisingly, I don’t think I saw a single teenager with a lame outfit and pillow case of candy. Carson was great the whole time…mostly sleeping, but the times he was awake there was zero fussing and a lot of smiling.
Here are a few pictures from the last couple weeks. We don’t have any good baptism pictures as flashes weren’t allowed in the sanctuary. However, I have a lengthy video that I’ll try to edit and post this weekend.
On another note, Carson goes in for his two month checkup today. You know what that means…..SHOTS. I’m also guessing he’ll weigh about 11.5 lbs, since he was barely over 6 when we took him in for his two week checkup. Funny how a simple health checkup can be so nerve wracking on the parents. Does he weigh enough? Does his poop look funny? Is he hitting motor skill and mental milestones? Will these vaccinations give him a fever? Do these jeans make my butt look big? Good times.
EDIT!!!! Man I was right on the money. With the 4 oz of formula he ate, Carson is 11 lbs, 8 ozs. He’s also measuring in at 23.25 inches long. He’s catching up, and has gone from the 25th percentile at birth to the 50th percentile in both areas.
